The route

From Hout-Blerick across the bridge into the city. Past the station, through the city centre, past the Canon campus and through VillaPark to Julianapark.

V

Departure - Hout-Blerick

Hout-Blerick, Venlo

The Topolino is ready. Depart from Hout-Blerick towards the bridge over the Maas. In a few minutes you are in the heart of Venlo.

🌉

Bridge from Blerick to Venlo

Maas, Venlo

Over the bridge, across the Maas. Left and right the water flows quietly by. A short crossing that connects two worlds: the quiet Blerick and the vibrant city centre of Venlo.

📸 Photo tip The Topolino on the bridge with the Maas in the background makes a stunning cityscape.
🚂

Next to Venlo Train Station

Stationsplein, Venlo

Venlo station is a striking building, an international junction and at the same time a familiar landmark for every Venlo resident. The route passes right by it, a moment to take a breath before the city really begins.

Club of the South - VVV-Venlo

Venlo

A taste of the city's pride. VVV-Venlo, the club of the South, is more than football. It is identity, community and passion. The route passes the place that embodies that feeling.

📸 Photo tip Yellow-black and a Topolino, two Italian icons in Venlo.
✈️

De Bronnen - Story of a Fighter Pilot

Venlo City Centre

Next to the fountains in the city centre lies a moving story. A fighter pilot once crashed here while making a detour to greet his parents. A small detour, a great memory. The route passes this spot as a silent tribute.

🛍️

Through the Shopping Area

Venlo City Centre

The route passes through the shopping area of Venlo. Cosy, busy and very Limburg. The Topolino is guaranteed to turn heads. Parking for a moment to soak up the atmosphere is always an option.

🏭

Past the former OCE - now Canon

Venlo

Océ was a global player in print solutions, born in Venlo and grown into an international brand. Now part of Canon, but its roots are here. The largest commercial employer in Venlo and surroundings. An icon of Limburg's manufacturing and intellectual power, passed on the route as living proof.

📸 Photo tip The Canon campus on the edge of the city, with the Topolino as a contemporary visitor.
🌳

Through VillaPark

VillaPark, Venlo

After the bustle of the city and the campus: tranquillity. VillaPark is a green buffer with stately houses and tree-lined avenues. A breath of fresh air before the end of the outward journey comes into view.

Midway stop - Grand Cafe Brouwersplaats

Julianapark, Venlo

Julianapark is the green heart of Venlo. Park the Topolino and walk to Grand Cafe Brouwersplaats for something delicious. Coffee, cake, a drink. Well earned after a tour through the city.

📸 Photo tip The Topolino parked by the park, with the greenery of Julianapark in the background.
Return route
Julianapark back to Hout-Blerick

The return journey passes a completely different side of Venlo. Through the villa district of Nieuw Stalberg, past the large heath of the former German Fliegerhorst, through nature by the Zwarte Water and via Genooi along the Maas back to Hout-Blerick.

V

Departure - Julianapark

Julianapark, Venlo

Refreshed with coffee and cake you depart from Julianapark. The return route passes a completely different face of Venlo.

🏡

Villa district Nieuw Stalberg

Nieuw Stalberg, Venlo

Through the villa district of Nieuw Stalberg. Wide avenues, stately houses, green gardens. A quiet and well-kept part of Venlo that you would never normally see as a visitor.

📸 Photo tip The Topolino in one of the wide avenues of Nieuw Stalberg fits perfectly.
✈️

The Grote Heide - Former Fliegerhorst

Venlo-Noord

Past the expansive heath that once served as a German military airfield: the Fliegerhorst. Returned to nature after the war, now a beautiful walking area. The open landscape gives the Topolino all the room to shine.

📸 Photo tip The vastness of the heath under a wide open sky. Once an airfield, now silence and nature.
💧

Nature along the Zwarte Water

Zwarte Water, Venlo

A stretch of nature along the Zwarte Water. Reeds, reflections, birds. The contrast with the city just moments ago is striking. Drive slowly and enjoy the greenery.

🌊

Via Genooi along the Maas

Genooi, Venlo

Via the quiet hamlet of Genooi the Maas slowly comes into view. The river accompanied you earlier on the outward journey. Now it closes the circle. Along the water back to the starting point.

📸 Photo tip The Maas in the evening light at Genooi, with the Topolino on the riverside road.
🏁

Finish - Hout-Blerick

Hout-Blerick, Venlo

Back where it all began. The Venlo City Centre route is complete. City, history, nature and the river: all in one round trip.
