Departure - Hout-Blerick
The Topolino is ready. Depart from Hout-Blerick towards the Maas. Almost immediately you are in the green.
Romeinenweg
The Romeinenweg offers stunning views of the Maas. A quiet road that literally runs along the water, with broad vistas across the river and the Limburg landscape on the far bank.
Past Baarlo
The route passes right through Baarlo. A picturesque Limburg village on the Maas, known for Baarlo Castle hidden in the greenery. Enjoying the atmosphere without the crowds.
Castle village Kessel
Kessel is one of the most beautiful villages along the Maas. The medieval castle, narrow streets and views of the river make it a special destination. Take time to stroll through it.
Finish - Kessel marina
The marina of Kessel marks the end of the outward journey. Boats at the jetty, the Maas nearby and a rustic spot to relax. Soon there will also be a place here for coffee, cake or ice cream.
The return journey follows a different route. Via Baarlo, past Dubbroek water and through de Boekend to Maashof. A lovely stop for coffee, cake or ice cream. Then back via part of the Napoleonsbaan to Hout-Blerick.
Departure - Kessel marina
Refreshed and fuelled with coffee or ice cream, you depart from Kessel marina towards Hout-Blerick.
Towards Baarlo
The route first heads towards Baarlo, along the dyke roads beside the water. Leisurely driving and enjoying the Maas landscape.
Around Baarlo
The route goes around Baarlo, through the outer edge of this Limburg village, before returning to the open polders.
Dubbroek water
An optional stop by the water in Dubbroek. Beautiful natural surroundings with peace and space, ideal for stepping out and taking it all in.
Midway stop - Maashof
Via de Boekend you reach Maashof, a wonderful location for coffee, cake or ice cream. A well-deserved break on the return route, with beautiful surroundings to enjoy.
Napoleonsbaan
A stretch along the historic Napoleonsbaan, one of the oldest roads in the region. Straight road, lovely vistas and a sense of history beneath the wheels.
Finish - Hout-Blerick
Back at the starting point. The Maas Route is complete. A loop along the water, through castle and village landscapes, with great stops along the way.
